Harangi Dam

Harangi Dam is situated in Hadgur hamlet, 34 kilometers from Madikeri and 10 kilometers from Kushalnagar. It is erected against a small creek that is a tributary of the Cauvery River. The dam is 846 meters long and 47 meters tall. When the gates are opened and the water is discharged, the dam draws a sizable audience during the monsoon season. It is a well-liked tourist destination in Coorg. The backwaters cover many acres and have little islands in the center and dense woodland along the banks.

A stone figure of Goddess Cauvery may be found close to the dam in a little garden. The Chamundeshwari Temple, which is devoted to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, is located close to the reservoir.

August to October is the best time to visit the dam. Timings: 8 AM to 6 PM.
